Reasons Within · Effective 20 July 2026
Reasons Within is built so that your health data stays yours. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information.
Reasons Within reads data from Apple Health — such as heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, activity, cycle, and related measurements — only with your permission, and only the categories you choose to share. All analysis happens on your iPhone. Your health data is never transmitted off the device, never stored on our servers, never sold, and never used to train models. We operate no account system and no health-data server.
The only thing Reasons Within can add to Apple Health is a mindful (breathing) session that you complete yourself, and only if you opt in. It never edits or deletes your existing Health data.
To understand how the app is used and to fix problems, Reasons Within collects a limited amount of anonymous analytics through PostHog, whose servers are located in the European Union. This is limited to:
This analytics data is not linked to your identity — we do not collect your name, email, or account, because there is none. No health data is ever included in analytics. The app applies an automatic filter that prevents health measurements from being sent, regardless of the event.
Reasons Within does not track you across other apps or websites, contains no advertising, and shares no data with data brokers or advertisers.
Reasons Within is not directed to children and is intended for users 18 and older.
You control Health access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health. Because your health data is never stored off your device, deleting the app removes it from your phone entirely.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
